Sabre

A slashing melee weapon. The sabre isn't too much different from the sword. Its blade is more curved than the sword. The sabre also has a different handle, its more smooth. Press X to go in a marching stance, without being able to attack, press X again to leave marching stance.

Usage

This weapon is only used by hussars, dragoons, all French units, and partisan units because their gear is randomized. Almost every faction has a dragoon, except for Duchy of Nassau. Some sabres can be 2-hits, some 3-hits—it's pretty much random. To increase damage, choose a cavalry regiment and get on your horse, then try to reach a high momentum with your horse, then just slash the enemy.

Pros:

Stronger and has more range than a knife.
Can block unlike the knife

Cons:

Low range, can be beaten by a stab weapon with higher range (pike, bayonet, lance) if opponent can stay away from their sword's distance
