Belligerents, also known as nations or factions, are the teams that appear in Blood & Iron. Belligerents, as well as the battle, change the corresponding equipment and uniforms.

The United Kingdom was released when Blood & Iron initially launched. Unlike other belligerents, the United Kingdom does not utilize lancers.
Kingdom of Prussia

The Kingdom of Prussia was the first German belligerent to be added after the initial launch of Blood & Iron. Prussia uses militia but uses no partisans.
Duchy of Nassau

The Duchy of Nassau was the second German belligerent to be added after the initial launch of Blood & Iron. Nassau does not utilize any cavalry or artillery.
Russian Empire

The Russian Empire was added to Blood & Iron with the Russia update. Russia allows players to play as the unique pikemen, and partisans.

The Austrian Empire was the third German belligerent added to Blood & Iron.
Brunswick Ducal Corps
Herzog - Charles William Ferdinand
The Brunswick Ducal Corps, or Black Brunswickers, was the fifth German belligerent added to Blood & Iron. Brunswick is more akin to a paramilitary than an actual nation. Brunswick does not utilize dragoons.
Spanish Empire

The Spanish Empire or the Kingdom of Spain is the 11th belligerent that was added to Blood & Iron on September 8th, 2023.
Spain was originally going to be added to fight France in Iberian Harbour, but was cancelled due to lack of music and uniform sources at the time. Spain is the third belligerent to utilize partisans (referred to as guerillas).

The Duchy of Warsaw (modern-day Poland) was the 8th belligerent added in Blood & Iron. Warsaw utilizes irregulars and militia.

Generalmajor & Chef des Generalstabs - Jean-Jacques Reubell (dismissed after August 7th, 1809)
The Kingdom of Westphalia was the tenth belligerent to be added to Blood & Iron. Westphalia does not utilize dragoons.
