The Equipment Menu is the menu where players select a class/regiment to play as before a round starts. The menu is opened by pressing M. Underneath the equipment menu, the cosmetics menu can be accessed by clicking the "Cosmetics" button.
Infantry
Main Article: Infantry
The Infantry Column includes mostly common, basic regiments. All classes spawn with a sword/sabre. However, sappers will not receive a sword/sabre, in which they get an axe instead.
- Rankers spawn with line musket with a bayonet.
- Officers spawn with a pistol and a spyglass.
- Fifers spawn with a fife. Scottish regiments of the United Kingdom replace them with pipers. There is only one regiment where the fife is replaced with a bugle, which is the Marins de la Garde of France.
- Drummers spawn with a drum.
- Colour bearers spawn with a colour.
- Sappers spawn with a hammer for building structures, a shovel for digging up dirt and an axe to demolish structures and enemies.
Skirmisher
Main Article: Skirmishers
The Skirmisher Column consists mostly of light infantry and riflemen (Warsaw's riflemen are found in militia) which both of whom have more accurate firearms. They will not spawn with a bayonet attached to your musket or rifle. Riflemen rankers spawns with a sword bayonet/sabre briquet to balance the power of the rifle.
- Light infantry rankers spawn with a light musket and a sword/sabre.
- Riflemen rankers spawn with a rifle and a sword sayonet/sabre briquet. Polish and Spanish riflemen however, which are found in militia, spawn with random secondary melees, with either being the hand axe or knife.
- Officers have the same loadout as infantry officers.
- Buglers spawn with a horn and a sword/sabre, although the tunes of the horn are the same as those emitted by the bugle.
Militia
Main Article: Militia
The Militia Column is a nonstandard column. They are exclusive to Prussia, Russia, Austria (upcoming), Warsaw and Spain. Russia, Warsaw and Spain have the partisan class. Partisans spawn with two weapons, one random primary weapon, which includes guns, and a random secondary weapon, which is always a melee weapon. It is possible to get two melee weapons as a result of this. Partisans also have melee weapons exclusive to their category, being the sledgehammer, knife, hammer, branch, sickle and scythe.
- Nassau also possesses militia, but it is not different in any way from the infantry.
- The infantry units spawn with the standard line musket but their secondary weapons are random, with the option of either the hand axe or the knife. The random weapon selection feature is also included for the fifer and drummer, albeit with no reason.
Cavalry
Main Article: Cavalry
The Cavalry Column consists of hussars, lancers, and dragoons. All classes get a horse and a sword/sabre. All Officers are the same as rankers, with the exception of dragoon officers, who get pistols. All buglers only have bugles.
- Hussar rankers spawn with just the sabre/sword. To make up for the lack of equipment, the hussar spawns with the fastest horse. The light horse that the hussar has also has the lowest amount of HP in-game.
- Lancer rankers will spawn with a lance and a mid-speed horse. The health of the medium horse is slightly better than the fast horse.
- Dragoon rankers spawn with a musketoon, but the musketoon cannot be used while mounted on the horse, while the sword/sabre can be used while mounted. Officers spawn with a standard pistol in place of a musketoon. They also spawn with the medium horse, which replaced the now-removed heavy horse.
- United Kingdom has no lancer regiment, so the anti-cavalry options are slightly limited.
- The swords/sabres that the cavalry units are equipped with are slightly longer, and the model has more noticeable changes.
Artillery
Main Article: Artillery
The Artillery Column consists of artillery classes purposed for firing shells with the cannon—a weapon capable of breaching constructs, killing multiple soldiers, and stopping cavalry. The cannon can fire two types of ammunition - roundshot and canister. Artillery rankers spawn with a rammer and a sword bayonet/sabre briquet, while officers spawn with the standard officer loadout. They provide a buff for artillery rankers, increasing the speed of the stages of reloading the cannon slightly. Artillery can become vulnerable when flanked, as the cannon turns slowly. It is advised to get a sapper to fortify the artillery.
- It is recommended that an artillery ranker reload from behind the cannon instead of the opening to decrease the chances of getting attacked by cavalry. This can be simply done by equipping the rammer and clicking the knob of the cannon.
- It is highly recommended that an artillery officer stays close with an artillery ranker as the reloading speed of the cannon is decreased, thus killing enemies slightly faster. Since officers have better weapons than their ranker counterparts, they also serve as a good artillery defender. There should only be one officer however, since the buff doesn't stack.
- Artillery officers can use their spyglass to inform you of their total troop strength and whether or not they have cavalry, so you can load roundshot instead of canister. Alternatively they can tell you whether you killed anyone.
