All of the Austrian Regiments listed have names of people. These were the names of their Inhabers (Proprietors) who were honorary colonel-in-chiefs. They were responsible for the regiment's financial support and were essentially property owners of the regiments. This was a tradition dating to Habsburg feudal armies where a nobleman would raise a regiment and become its honorary colonel-in-chief, sharing the plunder of the regiment and its shame or honour. Often, entire regiments were identified with just the names of the Inhabers, even after systematic numbers for regiments were implemented in 1769. Note the Inhabers often didn't actually lead the regiments themselves; that was left to chosen colonels.

Infantry and cavalry regiments were organized under either German or Hungarian denominations. While not all regiments fell under this distinction, it was used to broadly describe the regions they came from; German regiments originated from the Austrian side of the Leitha River, and the Hungarian regiments originated from the Hungarian side. This means some regiments come from Austria, Bohemia, and Galicia, while others may originate from Transylvania, Serbia, Vojvodina, and others.

The regiment in-game is the 1st Battalion, which was raised from the 2nd Infantry Regiment, and thus shares uniforms with it.
